BluRay movies on sale everywhere you look, get ‘em while they’re cheap

Submitted by Stephen Munn on April 10, 2009 – 11:49 amComments

Resident Evil Extinction BluRayI’ve noticed a few retailers offering some great deals on BluRay movies this week, and I’ve already pounced. A visit to Target yesterday surprised me, as Target’s doing a buy one get one free sale until tomorrow, Saturday the 11th. Included on the list are Iron Man and Wall-e, which are the two I ended up picking up. Other significant items on the list include Eagle Eye, Transporter 2 (or was it 3?), Transformers, Madagascar 2, Kung Fu Panda, and more.

You might find more to be excited about at DeepDiscount right now though, as they’ve discounted a larger list of movies as much as 42%. You can see the full list of Sony’s discs, which are on sale, here. Notable to gamers would be Final Fantasy: Spirits Within for $17.66, Resident Evil: Extinction for $23.57, Resident Evil: Apocalypse for $17.66, and Silent Hill for $17.66. These deals are almost as good as Target’s 2-for-1, since those are about $30 a pop to start. DeepDiscount also has free shipping.

I've just got Reservoir Dogs on blu-ray for $10 at Walmart!! I just couldn't believe it....
  • You know, that is the official movie of the Aeropodcast.
  • Hey, Wall-E and Iron Man are both BD-Live enabled! So we can watch them together and chat MST3K-style.

I think Aeropause Gaming Nights just became Aeropause Movie Nights!

I didn't know you could do that! Might help us get through Wall-E. I've heard the movie's lack of dialog has struck some people as irritating.

Wuh-wuh-what!?!?! Wall-E was amazing because it had little dialog. It's incredible how skilled Pixar is. You fully understand everything that's going on without hearing a single word (until the humans are introduced). That movie just has so much charm.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, it wasn't showing up before.

I loved the film. The 'lack of dialog' is shenanigans on the watchers' parts. It's like saying you don't know when to laugh because there's no laugh track.

I loved the film, and my kids did too for a few watches. Now they're back on their classic Disney kick.

And BTW, when the Target ad hit the Sunday paper last weekend, we went straight to Target and picked up our copies of Wall-E and Iron Man. Ironic, eh?

I rented the Iron Man BluRay on NetFlix a while ago and thought it was probably the best film I've seen on BluRay yet. Just looked amazing. Had to own it for this price, and can't wait to watch the bonus features.
  • Tell you what, we'll watch Wall-E together and I'll do voices during the silent robot parts. Warning, I work blue.

    Hah!
