You Got The Touch, You Got The Power, YEAH!
Who here is a Transformers fan? I mean a real Transformers fan. Someone that tried to analyze how those little cassettes in Soundwave could grow to be so huge when ejected? Or someone who debates the merits of Galvatron vs. Megatron. Maybe even someone that secretly worshipped Rodimus Prime (sacrilige).
Well for those people, today is a good day. It seems that a posting by a writer over at Kotaku, about getting Stan Bush’s “The Touch” into a guitar based music game got around and it looks like Guitar Hero World Tour will be offering the cult hit as free DLC. For those that are unaware of “The Touch”, it is the main theme song that plays behind Optimus Prime as he heads out to fight Megatron in the greatest robot battle ever. Just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye.
The only sad thing about this announcement is that the DLC is for Guitar Hero World Tour and not Rock Band. Harmonix, you must get on it and put this song in your catalog pronto. We need to be able to rock out to our favorite Transformers memories. “One Shall Stand, The Other Shall Fall”

No no no! This brings more than one tear to my eye. Just thinking about having to go back to GH:WT makes me cringe.
Oh, and that song RAWX!
I brought the movie in to work once, and played that part (and the opening theme) on loop. My officemates loved it (for the first couple of iterations).
Meh.
Have you no love for Optimus Prime, in his greatest moment of triumph. That said, it also signals the coming of Rodimus Prime [shudder].
Yay original Transformers!
I ripped these few clips from it some time ago: http://is.gd/odeH
They're in the open source Ogg Vorbis format, so you might want to use VideoLan to play them. I don't think I have the original WAVs anymore to reconvert to mp3.
Casting Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron and Orson Welles as Unicron (his last movie role, I think) was unexpected, to say the least.
