PETA Steps Into the Call of Duty Dog Killing Fracas
Well, we discussed the Massachusetts High School that had some students complaining about the dog killing that occurs in the Call of Duty games in the last podcast (coming soon, as we have some issues we are working out). All of us talked about it a bit, but in the end, we all seemed to agree that it was a few high school students, and that the dogs were portrayed historically accurate for the most part.
Of course, due to this story involving animals, and having gained a bit of steam from the media outlets, PETA has stepped onboard the banning dog killing in Call of Duty, or any other game for that matter. Funny thing is that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been out since November 2007 and no one has ever complained about the dog killing in that game ever. Suddenly, someone noticed it in Call of Duty: World at War, where dogs were used by Axis powers to attack and kill Allied soldiers, and went ballistic. Why did you wait until now PETA? Where were you when I was performing wholesale slaughter of dogs back in 2007. Just hearing about this new twist makes me want to load up CoD4 and get my dog killing on. PETA, isn’t there a Cooking Mama game somewhere you need to ban?

I complained. http://www.avclub.com/articles/call-of-duty-4-m…
Puh-lease! If any animal (or person) is running savagely in my direction in an effort to kill me, I'm going to do whatever I can to stay alive. If that means killing a poor, little, RABID dog, so be it. If that's something that anyone with common sense would do in real life, why are they complaining about a virtual killing? Seriously, PETA (and other complainers), if you're going to complain, do it over something that actually matters.
when is there dog killing in cod4 like there is on cod w@w? just curious. PETA is a joke. get behind a real cause and leave pretend animals alone.
In Call of Duty 4, the dogs showed up in the flashback level. If you didn't shoot them ahead of time, they'd jump on you and you had one last chance to break their neck before it was game over. I agree that PETA really needs to move on to more important things.
So I guess the act of killing humans is ok to PETA, but killing dogs is not?
