Great deal on Resident Evil 5, this Fri/Sat only

You know what’s a better Resident Evil 5 bonus than Gamestop’s lousy sericel or Gamecrazy’s bizarro sandglobe? Twenty dollars.

Sunday’s sales flyer for Toys R Us shows an unbeatable deal on Resident Evil 5: buy the game this Friday or Saturday (March 13 and 14), and you’ll get a free $20 gift card. This applies to either $59.99 version, PS3 or 360.

I had $5 down at Gamestop for RE5, and as soon as I saw this deal I rang up Gamestop and moved my $5 on to The Beatles: Rock Band.

This week, Toys R Us is also putting all $19.99 video games on a two-for-$30 deal. And don’t forget that the Regigigas download for Pokemon Pearl/Diamond has started and will be available until March 21st.

Can anybody find a better deal than that on Resident Evil 5?

  • We may have to try and beat this deal over at vgeutopia.com I think we will try and give away a $30 gift certificate...

Ugh... Why can't a store like Wal-Mart host this deal? The nearest Toys 'R' Us is like 45 minutes away. Two round trips (including using the $20 gift card) would not be worth it. Amazon is much more convenient.

Taking a AAA title from $60 to $40 territory is a win for just about any avid gamer.

Unless you're me and could care so little about Resident Evil that I haven't even tried the demo. Seriously, I have to do that this week.
  • I wasn't planning to get RE5 at launch, but that is a sweet deal. And it is a great way for me to get a $20 incentive card for my son. Clean your room and get your homework done, or no $20 Toys R Us gift card....SCORE!
