I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

Get Your Blake Stone On

blake_stoneThe good folks over at Good Old Games have sent out their release info for the new releases coming out tomorrow and both are really good titles.  You are going to see Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, and Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold.

Blake Stone was a 2.5D adventure that was based on the Wolfenstein engine.  It told the story of Blake Stone, a British spy hot on the trail of evil mastermind, Dr. Goldfire.  It was a solid FPS that mixed in new features like NPC interaction and an auto-mapping feature.  Auto-mapping!

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project takes the Duke franchise and puts them into a sidescrolling shooter.  Standard Duke fare can be found here including aliens that need to die and girls that need saving.

Both games can be had for $5.99 each, and if you have not set up a GOG.com account, make sure to use the Aeropause link at the top of the page.  Get old games, and help out Aeropause while doing it.

I remember when Blake Stone first came out. It was RIGHT before DooM hit. Blake Stone was soooo goood in comparison to Wolfenstein 3D.

I brought the shareware over to a friend of mine's for a sleep over one weekend,.and while we were playing it his dad says: “You guys should try this out. I got it from a friend of mine at work.”
I say: “Why? This is the greatest game available right now.”
Him: “I dunno. You guys should see if you can get it up and running.”

All I have to say is: Sorry Apogee your timing was awful.
