Blizzard Asks For Input For Diablo II Patch

Blizzard asks for input for a patch for a game that is 9 years old.

If you were to get an advance look at the patch notes for Diablo II 1.13, what is the one patch note you would want to see?

While everybody is putting input, I’m trying to wrap my head around why Blizzard wants to patch Diablo II when Diablo III is publicly known to be development.  Why would you spend your money, time, and human resource on a 9 year old game with its predecessor on the horizon?  My only guess would be this just another fan service to the Blizzard cult.  I don’t know if you noticed but the Blizzard cult worships their Blizzard god with great passion.

Absolutely right, Joe. They are making obscene dollars on this game. The only way they could make more per copy than the pennies-per-CD-ROM and cardboard in the store is if they digitally distributed it on Steam or something.

I'm glad they keep patching it but the thing it most needs would be too much for it — a big resolution bump up. Everything else is still clicky clicky good.

I for one applaud Blizzard's dedication to keeping a classic game functioning with new OS's & software. Most companies today rush title's out that barely qualify as 'beta'.

Why do they keep it up? Because so many people still play it! Pretty sure it's right behind Starcraft in the number of people playing on Bnet daily. I've gone back to it 3 times for binges since I stopped seriously playing it in '04. I think that's what keeps the game going: those who play it and then stop keep coming back to this addicting game. The real question is, why the hell have they waited 9 years to ask for input on a patch? I've never seen that by them until now.
