Something is wigged with the LBP Nariko renders

Today Sony announced some new LittleBigPlanet crossover costumes… although it was more of a tease than anything. Today’s PlayStation.Blog entry shows renders for sackperson costumes in the flavors of Killzone, Buzz and Heavenly Sword. Totally getting Buzz because I want his glasses.

You may recall that Best Buy preorders for LittleBigPlanet received a Nariko/Heavenly Sword costume, and it seems that outfit will finally be made available for the masses at a price. Just as GameStop’s “exclusive” Kratos preorder pack was added to the Store a month ago. But hold on a minute, what’s up with Nariko’s hair?

In the pic above, my Best Buy Nariko is on the left, with separately rendered flowing locks that whip around her face like gorgeous red tendrils. The image from today’s Blog update is on the right… with a blobby glob of Play-Doh hair. At first I thought, “Ah, so Media Molecule is keeping the Best Buy Nariko sort-of special.” But then I did a Google image search for images dating from around the LBP release and realized that they showed us the same glob-wig Nariko last fall!

Moral of the story: When you buy your Nariko costume, it will have far better hair than what you may be expecting. Fin.

I'll take a good hair day any day.

I don't know, I kind of like the burlap, globby hair. The *ahem* flowing locks of the picture on the left look too jaggy, in my opinion.
