No, no, no – we don’t want this in Home, we want this in LittleBigPlanet

You can’t hear me, but I’m screaming at my screen right now.

Paramount is working closely with Sony to promote the Watchmen movie, no doubt seeking to cash in on that juicy Venn diagram of Comics Nerds / Gamer Nerds / Movie Nerds. We already knew about the episodic downloadable beat ‘em up (coming to PSN, Xbox Live and PC), but now they’re priming for a huge virtual marketing push…

…in Home.

Starting February 27th, Home users will be able to buy Rorschach and Nite Owl Home jammies, as well as a few pieces of Watchmen-themed furniture for your $5 beach house.

No! No no! We do not want deconstructionist superhero costuming for our soulless, detestable Home avatars, we want deconstructionist superhero costuming for our charming, lively LittleBigPlanet sackpeople. We want a $6 costume set with Rorschach, Nite Owl, Doc Manhattan and Silk Spectre. We want a $6 level pack with LBP-ified jaunts through the Watchmenverse, with heaps of stickers and a Comedian bonus costume. Guaranteed Sony/Paramount would make bigger bank off of that $12 than from the nickel-and-dime avatar skins.

The world is now ass-backwards and there is no way to save it.
