Halo 3 Tournament Update

Submitted by Richard Windsor on February 20, 2009 – 12:10 pmComments

We have a fairly large field of competitors set for this weekend, and it should be a lot of fun. That said, we still have some room for more people. If you want to participate make sure to e-mail me at richard@aeropause.com before 7 p.m. est tonight. Include your name, gamertag, and state you live in. Late tonight e-mails will be sent out giving you instruction on exactly when, and against whom you will be playing. Sign-up now, even if you think you suck at Halo, you never know how well you might do!

Rules:

1. You must 18 or over to play.
2. Anyone displaying racist or hateful speech will be kicked out of tournament.
3. Contestants Must Reside in Continental United States or Canada.
4. You must have an XBL microphone, if I can’t hear you then it’s game over.

its mostly legal stuff about prizes i belive. but i also will be sitting this out because chao cant make a compition on a friday night. (stupid work make me have money to pay bills.)
  • Jordan_Snyder
Unfortunately, you're probably right about the legal issues, although I still agree it's a stupid rule. I would love to play in a Halo 3 tourney, especially since I already have the game. I guess it helps keep out people with the grammatical skills of Terry Quin, though.

Hum I've owned a 360 for two weeks, I haven't played a Halo game since the first one came out, and I'm not very good at FPS games... I think I'll sit this one out.
  • morphiend
Why? It's free to enter. What's the worst thing that could happen? You lose first round. That's no worse than not playing since you at least got to play against someone, in a tournament no less.

    I would if I owned a 360.
  • Harshy
That would make me buy/rent Halo 3...
  • Jordan_Snyder
Have you signed up for Live yet? I'm guessing your gamertag is (or will be) styxnpix.
  • Harshy
I am currently the proud owner of Catan and that is currently it.

    XBLA: styxandpix
  • Jordan_Snyder
I just added you. In other news, what the heck is Catan?
  • Harshy
It is a board game designed in Germany in 1995. It implements resource gathering and trading in order to expand your civilization. It is pretty much the gateway game into hobby board games (you know, like weed is the gateway drug). The full name is Settler's of Catan.

The XBLA version is just called Catan, it is 800 points and I'm about to throw my controller at the TV with the dice cheating that is going on for the computer.

I recommend getting the board game and playing with friends before playing on XBLA.
