Aeropodcast #70: Pop Culture Greater Than Wii News Opportunities

Fourhman, Koss and Joe try to ascertain why n-philes.com, a site that had covered all things Nintendo, has decided that covering movies, music and other consoles is more important that the news coming out of Camp Nintendo. N-philes.com says it is due to the fanbase changing, but could it just be sour grapes, or maybe just writers that wanted to spread their wings.
Our community corner was packed with questions about vaporware we wanted to materialize, if we have feelings for Street Fighter IV, and the return of Games for Windows vs. Games for Windows Live confusion. In the news, we have a Playstation Store that is closing, Midway getting finished by bankruptcy, Microsoft ignoring financial trends to open new retail stores, and much, much more.
This week, we killed Bryan Adams thank god, and have returned the ever faithful Revolution Void, from www.revolutionvoid.com. The podcast is mixed by our faithful Mixmaster, Stephen Munn.

Is it just me, or was Koss' audio track off a few seconds?
I hate to complain, but am I the only one who has noticed some mixing issues over the past few Aeropodcasts? The audio tracks of the participants doesn't seem to sync up, anymore.
This leads to weirdness like someone responding to something that hasn't been said yet, or is about to be said.
It's a very recent thing – something different with the way these are being put together, or the way you're marking your times at the top of the show?
Weird – but makes it hard to listen/follow, sometimes.
Ah HA! Just posted about this. I'm not alone…
I am wondering if using video during out podcast is causing us some issues. It might be a machine thing, but I will discuss it with the podcast consortium.
Word. Haygood on the case, I can sleep at night.
I'm watching you………
Now try sleeping at night.
THAT'S what that smell is.
*raises arm* *sniffs*
So that's what that is! Glad I got that figured out. To the deodorant store!
Homes, where do you live that there's an entire store dedicated to selling deodorant?!
I find it plentiful in the normal channels, but…
…still, this Deodorant Emporium of which you speak intrigues me. I'd blog it.
It is off, I'll try to explain why. When we record using Oovoo, which is a video chat thing, there is a delay of as much as several seconds between the time we say something and the time other people hear it. Then they respond, and again there's a delay. So, even if I sync it perfectly, it won't sound that way because people are talking at the same time, then hearing each other. The only way around it is for me to edit the podcast by listening to a few seconds, stopping, then cutting and sliding things around. I did that when I first started mixing, and it took hours. That's time I don't have, unless I want to kiss my wife and kid goodbye. We're going to go back to Skype, which worked better for this.
I'm totally with Fourhman on his comment that it sounds like N-Philes has some bitterness going on. There's plenty of Nintendo content to cover. So much so that I pass over several pieces of news every day just for time's sake. N-Philes used to be a major source for me for Nintendo news before I got my own sources here, and I'm disappointed that they would make this change and then blame Nintendo. It's fine to change your bag, baby, don't make it someone else's fault.
Yeah, you're right about me mixing up Wiire and GoNintendo… Haygood had it correct. Both sites are still out there slugging away at Nintendo news, but GoNintendo does a LOT of outside linking.

I do think Fourhman is confusing The Wiire and GoNintendo though. GoNintendo is the site that's all links to other sites, most of The Wiire's content is generated internally.
