Microsoft Layoffs Take Out Gamerscoreblog Team

In last week’s podcast you heard the news that the Gamerscoreblog had been shut down by Microsoft.  Well, the news got considerably worse for a lot of those folks as it seems they are part of the 5,000 layoffs that were announced by Steve Ballmer today.

According to the Twitter feeds of both Chris Paladino and Nelson Rodriguez, they have both been let go by Microsoft.  This is more unfortunate news in the gaming sector as the economy seems to hit even harder at an industry that has normally been defined as “recession-proof”.

We wish those over at Gamerscoreblog, good luck on their next endeavors, and a quick route to re-employment somewhere else.
