Aeropodcast #65: Dasvidaniya EGM, 1up.com

Submitted by on January 12, 2009 – 1:20 pmNo Comment

Joe, Fourhman and Koss come together to discuss the big news this week, which happens to be the loss of an industry staple, EGM, and the UGO buyout of the 1up.com properties.  We look at some of the personalities that are gone, our take on the buyout, and some of the unusual spin that came from UGO on the merger. This seems to leave a scant few magazines that we can buy and take into the bathroom to read while we take care of business.

The community stepped up big with lots of questions for us to answer, including whether we play real instruments, loathing popular gaming series and browsers that we enjoy.  And one reader even gave us an interesting tip on Lazy Town, which we dropped into the podcast a few episodes ago.  In the news, we look at Nintendo’s new hint system patent, the new Atlus title called Tokyo Beat Down and Lara’s underperforming causing layoffs at Crystal Dynamics.  We also throw in some funny statistics for Rock Revolution, which cannot be missed.

This week our music is by Revolution Void, which can be found at www.revolutionvoid.com.  The podcast is put together by the Aeropause Mixmaster, Stephen Munn, and his twin turntables of steel.
