Dracula casts Rachael Ray. It’s super effective!

    By Stephen Munn | December 7, 2008

I’m going to drop a huge spoiler for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia: the game makes a highly anachronistic reference to Rachael Ray!

    Real spoilers follow.

Well, not exactly. What happens is Dracula, who is an absolute pain in the ass as always, has an attack called something along the lines of “fatal ray.” At least, that’s what I hope he’s shouting that sounds exactly like the name of the Food Network personality. I could be mistaken. After all, he does seem to lack the understanding that Shanoa hasn’t wandered into the room to be shown a good time, and he is pointing over Shanoa’s head when he shouts the words.

That’s it. Dracula is convinced he knows exactly how to distract a woman: “Look, it’s Rachael Ray!” Pig.

It’s hard to say which would be worse, but the fatal ray does a ton of damage and is a challenge to dodge. The challenge could come from Shanoa actually trying to figure out what Dracula’s trying to say, too. The other possibility is that Dracula simply named this devastating attack after the intolerably perky Ray.
