Brutal Legend Finds A Place to Rock Out
By Joe Haygood | December 12, 2008
Well, after the great Activision sell off of 2008, there were many titles that were let go, only to be snapped up by other developers and publishers. Ghostbuster, Riddick, and other properties found homes, but one seemed to be left on the sidelines like the kid nobody wants on their pick up basketball team. That would be Brutal Legend.
Well, Tim Schafer, your wonderful looking game has finally found a publisher, and it is Electronic Arts. Yes, the rumor seems to have been confirmed, and Brutal Legend will come out via Electronic Arts to the 360 and PS3.

The rumor started a few weeks ago when John Riccitiello talked about taking risks in the publishing game. He mentioned games like Spore and The Sims, and even invoked other company titles, like 2K Games’ Bioshock and Valve’s Portal. Also he name dropped a prior Tim Schafer classic, Grim Fandango, which immediately started the speculation that Riccitiello was out to sign Brutal Legend to the publisher’s label. Now it is all signed, sealed and delivered. Well done Mr. Schafer, now lets hope people actually buy this title, unlike all the others you have released.
One bone to pick in all of this is that it looks like the possible PC version has been shelved, as it is mentioned nowhere in this announcement.
