Drool over these delicious Pokemon cupcakes

Devon’s mom is awesome.
Not only is she part of that brave new breed of parent who – in this post-1999 world – doesn’t worry about Pokemon corrupting her child, but she also whipped up some sweet Poke-cupcakes. 26 of them, for Devon’s seven-and-a-half birthday party. Here’s Mom’s report on the process:
The cupcakes are chocolate and they are filled with cream… just like a Hostess cupcake. The Pokemon faces were made out of Marshmallow Fondant. Marshmallow Fondant is made out of marshmallows so it tastes a lot better that regular fondant. It’s pretty fun to make too. I made templates for the various parts of the faces, and cut around them with an Exacto knife.
Get that? This was for his 7.5 party. Just imagine how Devon makes out when he turns 8. Probably a hundred skydiving Pikachu impersonators.
The full picture is after the jump, featuring such additional modern-day Poke-classics as Piplup, Turtwig, Jigglypuff and Munchlax.

I’m going to hire her for my upcoming birthday party, which I am theming to Metal Gear Solid 4. Otacon cupcakes get!
