Opinion coming: I mean, whatever.
There’s some nice write-ups at Kotaku, but the Move announcements smell like more motion-controlled crap mini-games. How is it that something like this can launch four years after the Wii came …

CNet Review: 80GB PS3 a Superb Gaming Console, Get $150 Off

Submitted by Paul Munn on November 25, 2008 – 9:02 pmComments

With new SKUs showing up for the PS3 every time Sony says they’re not going to introduce a new SKU — I’m looking at you, new 160GB Uncharted bundle — I’d expect reviewers to throw up their hands and let the launch lineup reviews stand. With some significant changes since launch, however, the system deserves a well-rounded look with enough history to give consumers an idea about what they are and aren’t getting when considering the system. A new CNet review on CNN.com covering the 80GB PS3 not only covers what it is and isn’t, but it also touches on an awful wide range of its capabilities. In the end they come out and call the PS3 “a superb gaming console”.

The review goes into quite a bit of depth on the system and its firmware, software, and peripherals. It even touches on the squabbling between Sony and Immersion that prevented Sony from offering rumble in their controllers at launch and on how long it took the system to get its footing and offer truly stellar exclusive and cross-platform titles.

It’s definitely worth a read if you’re starting to consider picking up one of the big black machines for yourself or someone you love, and it’s also worth taking Sony up on the offer of a new credit card since that’ll net you $150 off the purchase of a PS3 right off the bat. Check out that offer at the PlayStation Blog.
