Alphadream working on Mario & Luigi 3, Bowser playable

The newest Nintendo Power, number 236, arrived in my mailbox the other day and while it boasted some old news like Sin & Punishment 2, there was at least one item I hadn’t heard about yet: Mario & Luigi RPG 3. It’s mentioned on the cover of the magazine, but the article in the magazine is barely larger than that text on the cover. That’s fine, I suppose. The Mario RPGs are a distinguished line of software for Nintendo, stretching all the way back to Super Mario RPG on the Super NES. The Mario & Luigi games are all handheld, and like Paper Mario, these are great games with some hilarious localization. I’m reminded of a star-shaped gate in Partners in Time, the previous episode, which made spaghetti sauce recommendations.

The text of the article follows.

Brotherly Love

As if Punch-Out!!, the DSi, and Sin and Punishment 2 weren’t enough to get us frothing, Nintendo also announced Mario & Luigi RPG 3 (working title) at their recent media summit. Details remain scarce on this DS adventure from the makers of Superstar Saga and Partners in Time, but we know that Bowser will be joining the brothers as a playable character.

The makers of Superstar Saga and Partners in Time would be AlphaDream.
