Activision CEO: We only want to publish games we can “exploit” on an annual basis

Submitted by Jeremy Yerby on November 7, 2008 – 3:40 amComments

exploit | verbTo selfishly or unfairly use someone or something for one’s own advantage; to abuse.

As we know, Activision-Blizzard after the conglomergerization dropped several titles that were going to be published by Vivendi prior to said conglomergerization. Among these were Ghost Busters, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Brutal Legend. When asked about the apparent shunning of these titles during a conference call, Activison-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick had this to say:

With respect to the franchises that don’t have the potential to be exploited every year across every platform with clear sequel potential that can meet our objectives of over time becoming $100 million plus franchises, that’s a strategy that has worked very well for us.

Perhaps someone needs to tell him that “exploit” was not the ideal word to use here. Although it is not far from the truth, thats a hand that needs to be played a little closer to the chest. What really kills me is that this is not the first time he has said this exact thing. Let’s peer almost a year into the past and see our present!

Perhaps they need to start getting other people to speak for Kotick.

It's apparent that they want to dominate the video game industry and would like to have more wow goldbut if they want to continue they should know how to use a right word without giving a bad impression.
