Activision Helps Out the Troops With Call of Duty Launch Events

While we have never been shy here at Aeropause to get on Activision about their Guitar Hero release philosophy, or how they successfully killed the Tony Hawk franchise, but today, I am here to give them a lot of props, and give some of our readers a way to help Activision out with their cause.

Activision is holding two large release parties at two Gamestop locations.  The first Gamestop is located at 151 Powell St. in San Francisco, and the other is located at 1100 Hayes St. in Arlington Virginia.

What is so special about these locations and their launch events?  If you buy a copy of Call of Duty: World at War at either of these Gamestop locations, Activision will donate $10 to the United Service Organizations (USO), whose mission is to help the men and women in the US Armed Forces with morale, welfare and recreation.  Activision’s goal is to reach $20,000 in donations from the purchase of Call of Duty: World at War.

Activision is also showing more support for the troops and the USO, by donating $100,000 worth of equipment and copies of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to deployment and mobile locations of the USO.  This donation will allow US Armed Forces personnel around the world a chance to relax with some Guitar Hero III in between their job of protecting this nation.

So if you are planning to buy a copy of Call of Duty: World at War, and you live near either of those Gamestop locations, and help the USO help our Armed Forces.
