    Quartermann’s right again: it’s Castlevania for PS3 and 360

    By Stephen Munn | October 11, 2008

Word from the Tokyo Game Show is that Konami’s dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming PS3 and 360 entry in the Castlevania series that was rumored by EGM’s Quartermann some time ago. Guess who’s in the trailer? Western Castlevania fan-favorite Alucard, star of series pivot point Symphony of the Night and co-star of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and Castlevania Legends, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Yeah, we’ve seen a lot of him throughout the years, but you have to admit, he is rather badass… for an angsty pretty boy.

I’m thrilled, as I always am when a Castlevania game is announced. But there’s more.

Konami currently has three Castlevania projects in the works. In Japan, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS is slated for release on October 23. Castlevania Judgement for the Wii will follow a few months later on January 15. Konami is also working on an arcade game titled Castlevania: The Arcade, which has been beta-testing in Tokyo since July. That game is played with a motion-sensitive stick, which can be swung to execute whip attacks.

Anyone care to hazard a guess what platform Castlevania: The Arcade will appear on once it comes home?
