I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

Heard of LittleBIGPlanet, BestBuy?

To keep abreast of the latest deals at one of the remaining big box retail stores, Best Buy, I’ve subscribed to their e-mail advertisements. That’s right, I don’t have to wait until the Sunday paper arrives to know what’s “HOT” at BestBuy. So when their latest e-mail arrived with the title of “October Games: Guitar Hero World Tour; Save $10 with Store Coupon“, I quickly opened it to see if the coupon was for any game or just GHWT. Alas, it’s basically only for GHWT (in its “band kit” form) since it has a $75 minimum between games and peripherals, but that wasn’t the only let down.

It seems that someone forgot to tell BestBuy about a little game called LittleBIGPlanet. It’s been all over the video game magazines for the past months. Every blog on the intertubes as been a-buzz with news about the beta in the past weeks. Almost every PS3 fan has been calling it the coming of the resurgence of the platform. Heck, they even have their own personal pre-order item: Nariko SackGirl. With my personal experience in the beta, LBP is on my short list of games to obtain this month. But BestBuy seems to think that out of all the games coming out this month, what the PS3 owners are interested in is: Fracture, Silent Hill: Homecoming, NBA 2K9, Fallout 3, Saints Row 2, Resistance 2 (Pre-Order), and of course Guitar Hero World Tour. Here’s just a hunch, but I’m betting that LBP is going to outsell anyone of those titles, on the PS3.
