Gutsman and Shadow Man spotted at CVS, captured in plastic

    By Stephen Munn | October 23, 2008

Most people go to CVS for prescriptions. That’s what I went there for this evening, in fact. While waiting for that, I wandered around the store and my gamer sense led me to these two dolls in the toy aisle. On the left is Shadow Man, or a blue penguin with a star on his head. On the right is indisputably Gutsman. Note the Capcom logo in the bottom left… these aren’t fakes. Checking out Capcom’s online store, under the “collectables” section (which I swear should say “collectibles” no matter what Merriam-Webster says is a variant), these are nowhere to be found. Apparently CVS is the place to get them or something.

I’m trying to reconcile just how weird Shadow Man looks here compared to his sprite, which you can see right on the package. To be fair, his sprite never was particularly inspired in design, unlike many of his brothers in Mega Man 3.
