Xbox Live Service Going Down for Maintenance Next Week

Submitted by Joe Haygood on September 23, 2008 – 5:21 pmComments

Major Nelson put up a service interruption notice today on his blog, mentioning that Xbox Live and the Xbox.com website would be down for the day of September 29th.  Immediately, the speculation was that the new Xbox Live Experience would be launched the next day, but not too long after the announcement was mentioned, it was confirmed that this was just plumbing work for the update, not the actual update.

Of course that has not stopped the fueled speculation that it really is the update, and that the planned maintenance is just a rouse to cover for the update that will take place that day.

It would be nice to get the update, but most likely, it will not happen until late October, early November.  Not a fact, but just based on previous updates.
