Spore: One Copy=One Account for The Entire Family
So you may have read about some of the controversy surrounding EA’s new title, Spore. While Electronic Arts and Wil Wright have high hopes for the games’ success, its DRM protection and other idiosyncrasies have stolen the show.
Now, it seems that when you install Spore, it asks you to create a user account for the game. So what happens when the second user on a family PC wants to use the game? They have to use the same account, as it seems you can only have one account linked to the game’s serial number. One tiny problem: the manual that comes with the game states differently.
EA has clarified the situation saying that yes, there is a misprint in the manual that is being fixed with future printing, and that there is a one account per copy limit with Spore. Concerns about the issue have apparently been sent to the developer, but no word on if the policy will change.
