Mega Man 9 is coming tomorrow, so look at screenshots

Submitted by Stephen Munn on September 21, 2008 – 10:20 amComments

Capcom’s announced release dates for all three versions of Mega Man 9. It hits WiiWare first tomorrow, then later this week on the other two platforms. Along with this announcement comes a pile of new screens for the title. The review is already up at IGN Wii, where they gave the game an 8.6. Reviewer Mark Bozon says the WiiWare version is the most true to the original NES feel because of the lower resolution of that release, while the 360 and PS3 versions are a little smoother looking. As a purist, he prefers the Wii version. I was having trouble deciding whether to go with the WiiWare or PS3 version of the game, and this answers that for me. A smoothed-out NES Mega Man would look to me like an emulated one. That is to say, not exactly right. Combine that with the fact that I prefer the Wii Remote for NES games and I’ll be deleting some stuff to make room for Mega Man 9 on Wii. Of course, an announcement that I could play it on my PSP as well would sell me the PS3 version instead instantly. All versions have achievement-style unlockables and downloadable content. I’ve seen no sign of that yet. IGN has a video review that’s a sight to see with all its retro-styled action you may wish to see. Check out more screens below.
