Calling Shenanigans on Burnout Paradise Trophies

Submitted by on September 22, 2008 – 9:58 pmNo Comment

Okay, so I just had a friend point me in the direction of PS3Trophies.com, because the trophy list was up for Burnout Paradise.  This also lead me to find out that the Trophy patch is suppose to come out this week, which will be a great way for not only old players to get back into the game, but new players when it goes on sale next week via direct download from the PSN.

So why the rally for shenanigans over the trophies in the game?  Well, for one thing, it looks like the challenge of the trophies has been reduced a bit.  A gold trophy for 60 billboards?  A silver for a 50,000 point stunt run?  My guess from the look of this list is that most players will get all these trophies via the retroactive nature of the past.  Why bother adding trophy support if you aren’t going to add challenge to the trophies.  Any player on the 360 knows the hassle of trying to track down all 120 billboards in the game to get an achievement.  Or scratching your head over how to get a 1,000,000 point stunt run to grab an achievement.  Well I guess there are the motorcycle achievements, but then again, that patch has been out for a week, so those trophies may be done for a few as well.

Well, even with the somewhat easy trophies, definitely get this game via digital download, if you don’t own it already, because at $30 with all the free DLC Critereon has doled out, it is a no brainer.
