Ryan Hewson of The BBPS.com and citizengame.ca tipped us to a email he received from Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert about upcoming patches / enhancements / changes / expansions to the only two PixelJunk games anybody ever talks about, Monsters and Eden.

After posting a nice rant about the difficulty of both, Hewson was surprised to receive a friendly message from Cuthbert revealing plans for future expansions.

Monsters will receive a free patch that adds a choice of difficulty, although you will still be stuck on the standard difficulty level should you wish to have your score submitted to the online leaderboards. No word on when this patch will drop.

Eden’s expansion will add new gameplay styles, as Cuthbert thinks “the controls are too much fun to waste on just one set of game rules.” He also suspects they will add “a more namby pamby mode” for those who think the game is too punishing. Again, no idea on when this expansion will happen, but it sounds like a payfer.
