    Warhawk One-Two Punch: Trophies And Fallen Star

    By Paul Munn | August 20, 2008

    Leipzig was the site of another Sony announcement today, and that’s a third expansion for their exclusive online shooter Warhawk. Warhawk: Fallen Star is slated to hit on August 28th with a new map and a new item including the Icarus Mk 1 jetpack. The video above shows that you’ll actually be able to engage in combat while flying with it and perhaps even pick it up from the mobile troop carrier introduced in previous expansions.

    This expansion is slated to hit just one day after the free 1.5 update that will be adding Trophies, a small number of which will be retroactive and linked to your rank, as well as a boatload of new features — including offline tutorials for new players — detailed after the jump.

    The 1.5 update will be free and will give us, among other things:
    * Custom in-game soundtracks
    * Training tutorials — 4 offline tutorials for “newbies” to the game, focusing “on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft.” The fourth tutorial, Flight Practice, will have players destroying as many attack drones as possible in 3 minutes. Completing these tutorials will result in a trophy.
    * Clan leaders will now have the ability to retract a clan invite.
    * 20 new paint schemes and 50 new insignias.
    * Participants of the GGL tournament will receive a in-game GGL-Ceremonial Knife. The winners of the tournament will receive a Champion’s Blade.
    * Green servers will be designated for rookies only.

    The expansion is likely to have the same price as the previous ones, but look for a bundle of expansions for a bit less around the same time or shortly thereafter if you haven’t gotten any of them yet. They did that last time around.
