    Tomb Raider, Meet Alison Carroll

    By Joe Haygood | August 12, 2008

Every year, things have to change.  New models of cars are released, the school year starts anew, and as always a new Madden game is a guarantee.  The same can be said for models that portray Lara Croft.  It seems every year, we get a new model to portray the buxom lass in a real form.  This year, the honors go to Alison Carroll, a trained gymnast and model.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to embracing Lara’s world,” said Alison Carroll. “It’s unbelievable how realistic her movements are in Tomb Raider Underworld and it’s so gratifying to be able to use my years of gymnastic training to portray such a beloved character.”

I do have to say that the diving picture at the beginning of this article is probably one of the coolest pictures that Eidos has put out for a Lara Croft model.  It actually shows off the model, performing a move that the in-game Lara Croft would do.  It looks elegant, and smooth.  All that said, while I like the idea of freshening up the Lara Croft model with each version of the game, Lara Weller still stands out as my favorite Lara Croft model of all time.
