Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Mega Man on Virtual Console tomorrow, but maybe not the best deal

Hey everyone, you know how Mega Man is one of my guilty pleasures. Well, not so guilty, as I’m not the only Mega Fan out there, I suppose. Anyway, Capcom says Mega Man‘s coming to Virtual Console tomorrow, August 4th, and that Mega Man 9 will be on WiiWare in September. Mega Man 2 is also planned for early September. David Crislip of Capcom Japan had this to say:

I am proud to announce that the Blue Bomber is back and ready for action in the original adventure that started it all. Mega Man will be available for the Virtual Console this Monday! What better way to whet your appetite for the shiny newness that is Mega Man 9 than with a trip down memory lane by reliving Mega Man’s original adventure?

Here’s the thing, though: If you’ve got a Wii, you can just play Mega Man Anniversary Collection for Gamecube, which is available for under $20 used most places. The game is also on PS2 and Xbox. With Mega Man through Mega Man 8 on that one disc, plus other bonus material, it’s a far better deal than $5 on the Wii Shop Channel, depending on how you look at it. We could probably guess that the controls will be corrected on the VC release (using a Gamecube controller, the jump and shoot buttons were transposed in the compilation). Also, there were some bells and whistles added to the ports in that collection, such as a hint system, which may or may not be something you want to avoid. Additionally, Mega Man 8 was a PS1 game, so you’ll almost certainly never see that on Nintendo’s downloadable service, and it’s unlikely on Microsoft’s, though not impossible.

The way Anniversary collect blows up the games images makes the sprite graphics a tad blurry but MegaMan 8 still looks great.

The Wii is the best had far has emulation goes it tends to keep the sprites from blurring keeping them crisp.

Anniversary collection is still an amazing deal though 10 games for a low price! Still if your a hardcore Megaman fan or hardcore fan of MM2 then download the VC version.
