Glitchy NCAA Football 09 videos cause seething, snorting

I don’t know the first thing about teh footballz, but these user-posted videos showing off glitches and dunderheaded AI are alternately hilarious and aggravating. NCAA 09 is apparantly broken from top to bottom, and longtime sports gamers like Bill Harris of Dubious Quality are monitoring the problems in painful detail. Bill Harris also found an Operation Sports thread where fellow blogger Bill Abner reports that he can’t find any CPU AI sliders in his preview copy of Madden 09, which is due to be released next week… the forum goes crazy when a Madden senior designer posts this response:

There are in fact no CPU sliders. I discovered this myself about 2 weeks ago as well, and was kind of wondering when I should break the news. I wish I had an explanation, but I don’t. There’s not all that much more I can say about it…

There’s one other bit of bad news that I discovered at the same time, and that is there is no custom controller configuration any more. Again, I don’t really have an explanation.

I’m starting to think competition in the marketplace is a good thing.
