EA Serves Up Red Alert for Free, Red Alert 2 Free With Strings Attached

    By Joe Haygood | August 31, 2008

In celebration of the upcoming Red Alert 3 release, Electronic Arts has released the original Red Alert as a fully free download.  There are two downloads, including the Allied Disc and the Soviet Disc.

Also, Electronic Arts is dangling out the carrot for pre-ordering Red Alert 3.  Pre-order from Electronic Arts website right now, and you get a copy of Red Alert 2 for free, starring the lovely Kari Wuhrer (shown to the left) as Tanya, along with that goofy dude behind her.  Currently, Red Alert 3 is available in a standard edition at $49.99 and a collectors edition at $64.99.  To download the discs, make sure to get the Allied Disc and the Soviet Disc.

To open both of these discs, you will need WinRAR or WinZIP, and you will need to burn them to a CD or mount them via Daemon Tools or some other disc emulator.
