Conduit’s controls to be ridiculously customizable; will use Wii MotionPlus

Two… two… two stories in one here, and from two different sources, no less.

Firstly, we have the above footage from GameTrailers.com which shows The Conduit designer Rob Nicholls going in-depth on the control options available within the game. There’s some pretty unique stuff here that makes earlier FPS-ish attempts on Wii look a little shortsighted by comparison. It remains to be seen whether too many options can actually be a bad thing. I imagine most people will never muck with the default settings, but those who are dissatisfied with something now have the ability to change it.

Secondly, we have word from Gamespot UK that High Voltage Software has confirmed that the Wii MotionPlus device, due early next year, will work with The Conduit in some fashion. While all we’ve really seen so far has been pointing and shooting (and reloading and reloading some more) it’s not too hard to imagine they’ll just come up with some excuse to implement it. Maybe a new weapon that you swing, like some kind of laser… whip. I don’t know, I’m down one way or another. If Nintendo’s as keen on pushing these things into people’s homes as they claim, I imagine I’ll have two or three a month after they release.
