Xbox 360 Fall Update 2008, Questions Answered

Major Nelson and co-host “e”, which I think is his actual Gamertag, answer questions about the upcoming Xbox 360 Experience update coming this fall – to which we have a video for here. To give you an idea of how far the Dashboard has come since the Fall 2007 update, check out all the old updates, compared to the new (in the video link above):

Xbox Originals game download service, Family Timer parental control feature, and expanded social networking experiences. Xbox 360 owners can also look forward to enhanced navigation, profile, and video features and Xbox LIVE® Arcade Hits.

Notice I highlighted “enhanced navigation”.

    How Come Every Time Before A Major Update. Live Fucks Up. Now While Iam Playing Games I Keep Getting Disconnected Because Xbox Live Is Fucking Up. And When I Test Connection I Pass Every Test Except Connecting To Live. Nice Job Microsoft.

    I turned on my xbox...went to play COD4 live...stupid thing wont connect...what did they do/???
  • Maybe it was not made clear enough, but this is not the New Xbox Live Experience update. The update is not due until later in the fall. This is just for the backend plumbing to get things ready for the update. Did people miss that part of the message when they discussed the update.

    yeah, turned my box on, all excited for this fantastic update, when i load games theres NO update, what did they do, flip the off switch and forget to turn it back on for 26 hours... come on release the dashboard!!!!!

    All right xbox goes by pacific time and its 5:45am there and 7:45 here and i turned on my xbox and....same dashboard!!!

    the update will be done in about a half hour. I perrsonally, am excited for the update and I always like changes... It keeps things interesting and I herd new features will be arriving like an 8 person chat

    if you have a data migration kit for your xbox 360 then if you download xport 360 and connect your HDD to your computer you can get into the system update folder with the current system update in there so if you downloaded the 2008 fall update and just unzipped it into there wouldn't you have just installed it onto your console so next time you turn on your xbox it would be installed. by the way this is on retail consoles!!!!.
