The Great Tree, New Mac Screens

Submitted by Shane on July 22, 2008 – 10:52 amComments

The critically acclaimed PC game The Great Tree from Reflexive Entertainment that was released in December is now available on the Mac. From the same artist who brought us Wik: Fable of Souls, this dark and moody title will certainly stick to your brain as an unforgotten game.

The Great Tree is the story of the faeries known as the Wren is one fraught with intrigue and danger. Taking on the role of one of the Wren selected to collect pollen, players hear the story through cinematic interludes and then live it through the levels. Using magical powers and agile movements, players must avoid powerful and innovative enemies that literally come alive from the background in ways that are both exciting and horrifying.

To say this game is unique is an understatement. It’s one of the most artistic and freakish games I’ve ever encountered.

Ion Hardie, Director of Product Development:

“Watching a mushroom that you thought was just a pretty picture in the background open its eyes, change its expression and then open its mouth to try to eat you is just one of many amazing moments in this game that will startle, surprise and in the end simply amaze you,” and “It contains moments that are as unique and enjoyable as anything I’ve ever seen in any game.”

Wow that's some crazy artwork. It looks like a cross between H.R. Giger and the Dark Crystal. Anyone know if this game require a fast computer?
