Paul, Pixel Junk Monsters is right up your alley. It’s worth the $5 and more, you should definitely pick it up. I enjoyed it so much that I snatched it up just from playing a couple rounds with the demo when it first came out.

The only other game I’m considering is Pain. pretty much for the same reason’s you stated.

Well then…I kind of wanted Pixel Junk Monsters, but I’m about to move and my PS3 is packed up. I’ll be unpacking it at the new place on Aug 1st.

So do I want the game enough to unpack my PS3 and hook it back up?

Maybe, but it’s so crappy you wouldn’t even want to use it again. Seriously, there’s like two heads, five hair colors, and goatee yes/no. And seventeen shirts but they’re all the same but different colors. Calling it an avatar is generous indeed.

PixelJunk Monsters is FANTASTIC. Very challenging, lots of fun, even better as 2 player co-op.

Rocketman is atrocious. Yes, go ahead and avoid that one. It’s based on a failed tabletop game, and turned into an even worse video game. Sony needs to forget that property and get the PC version of the Pirates tabletop game onto PSN.

The poker one is merely OK. The NPC AI is not great, and I don’t think you can do local multiplayer. The presentation is really bad, ugly CG characters and a meaningless avatar system… you can spend in-game money on buying news shoes, but you never see the shoes during a game because everyone is sitting at tables.

Mmmm… tasty! I’ll probably go and pick-up PJ Monsters tonight (or the wife may get it this afternoon).

PAIN is so-so. It’s just so short for what you get (unless I’m missing something). It’s only so much fun to throw someone through the air, over and over and over….. and over……. and over…. etc
