New Fatal Frame 4 trailer released

Submitted by on July 24, 2008 – 10:05 pm2 Comments

Although Nintendo did not mention it during their E3 conference, the latest chapter in the Fatal Frame franchise is headed to Wii. Subtitled “Mask of the Lunar Eclipse”, this Fatal Frame once again takes gamers deep into Japanese-style horror.

Frame fans worried about auteur producer Suda 51 turning the series into something more in line with his unique vision (Killer 7, No More Heroes) should rest easy. Suda looks like he’s playing strictly inside the established visual canon. All of the series’ trademarks seem to be intact. Ancient rituals, the Camera Obscura, tormented spirits, the grainy palette, masked priests, quick scares, and of course, pretty girls… all in evidence in this second trailer (the first trailer is after the jump). I am so psyched for this one. All we need is a US release date.

While the second trailer is a polished theatrical affair, this first trailer shows a little of the actual ghost-catching gameplay.

Glad you’re diggin’ it. I’ve been a big supporter of this franchise since day one.

Hey, you’ve got a back-compat PS3… go get Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly if you can find it. It will change your opinion about Beyond Good & Evil having a great story, that’s for sure!
