    Halophax

    By Shane | July 17, 2008

During a recent visit to a local Amp Your Game tournament, I met the guys who run Halophax. Halophax is an Atlantic Canada-based competitive console gaming organization with focus on Halo of course. The “phax” comes from Halifax which is where they’re based. Their goal is to seek out the best Canadian gamers, while providing an entertaining and competitive venue for all.

Owners Craig Kennedy and Ryan Staples:

What began as an event based initiative, quickly grew into an online gaming community. From the beginning, our goal has been to mimic the gaming style and atmosphere achieved by successful gaming giants such as MLG . By studying the details that our audience expects from a gaming venue, we are able to implement a similar concept on a local level. The attention to detail and quality of our event “product” has been the key to our huge success in such a short history.

Check out Halophax as they might be in a city near you this year.
