Free Xbox Live Silver Play For GFW Live Titles

Submitted by on July 29, 2008 – 3:15 pmNo Comment

Microsoft has decided to celebrate the newfound freeness of Games For Windows Live, by allowing cross-platform play of all supported titles to be played for free on the 360.  That’s right, if you have a Silver Xbox Live membership, you can play any of the cross-platform titles available for free.

Only problem is that the list is somewhat smaller than I would have thought it should be, as the only titles that currently support cross-platform play are Shadowrun, Lost Planet Extreme Edtion: Colonies Edition and Universe At War.  On the possible list is The Club as the packaging says it supports cross platform play I believe, but then again, so did Kane and Lynch, and lo and behold, it did not support cross-platform play.

This is not an unlimited event, as the free play will only last until the new dashboard update is released.  Of course we only have a rough date of Fall 2008 for the dashboard update.  Also, the GFW Live Dashboard should be coming out around that time as well, so lets celebrate with some Shadowrun, woohoo.  People are still playing that, right?
