Chrono Trigger DS website counting down seconds until Wednesday morning

    By Stephen Munn | July 4, 2008

Recently a ticking clock at a location on Square-Enix’s Japan website called CTDS gave away that Chrono Trigger was coming to Nintendo DS, a fact that the company confirmed on Thursday. Now the site has an actual number ticking down the seconds until some time next Wednesday morning, which will be the 9th of July. Naturally, E3 begins on the 14th, so I’m guessing Wednesday is either when the site will launch properly, or even just when Square-Enix will show the first footage of the game before an E3 blowout. Whatever.

This is exciting stuff. Current rumor is that the game is not a remake exactly, but rather just a port with some additional content and touch control added in. Seems like a lazy approach, but a cautious one at the same time. Let’s be honest here, there isn’t much Square-Enix could do to this game without breaking it. It’s already basically the perfect game.
