Australian Dark Sector Isn’t So Dark

Submitted by on July 7, 2008 – 5:40 pmComments

A few months ago it was reported that the Xbox 360 and PS3 game: Dark Sector was banned in Australia for too much gore and violence (really?). Now the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification), which is equivalent to our ESRB but much more strict, has released the trembling saliva-soaked muzzle from the viciously rabid game — but not before stripping out some of the gore and violence, while slapping a fat MA15+ (“Strong Violence”) sticker on it. Way to go, OFLC, now the Aussies won’t get a taste of what the original game is like. I’m sure the Developers are tickled pink.

This is a title I have yet to finish since its release; simply because other games have come along which were far more exhilarating for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like the game despite its repetitiveness and likeness to Gears of War; it’s just sad to hear our friends down south haven’t even played it yet.
