Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

What did you play this weekend?

It’s going to be one hell of a busy summer month for game releases as I counted at least 80 new titles – some of which are the same game on different platforms. There’s Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Battlefield: Bad Company, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Incredible Hulk, Alone in the Dark, Lego Indiana Jones, Rock Band on the Wii – the list goes on. While some of these games are out now, some are not, but that’s not stopping us from catching up with what we have on our plate.

For me it was the Battlefield: Bad Company demo from the official release last week – not the Beta codes we gave out a week prior. I beat the short demo and went on to give the Multiplayer mode a spin – aside from the lag, it was a lot of fun. I appreciated the feature of not having to start over when you die, instead you join your fighting squad where you last kicked the bucket.
Then there was the new and colourful title from Spidermonk called: Roogoo on XBLA which I quite enjoyed but started to get insanely difficult.
Next up was GTA IV where I’m working on getting more of the game complete after beating the main story, and finally a bit of Condemned 2 which definitely should be played at night for maximum effect.

What did you get a chance to sit down with this weekend? Did you beat a game? Get that achievement or point that you’ve been jonesing to reach?

Let’s see… Jimmy Buffet songs on Rock Band… about halfway through No More Heroes… kinda tabled GTAIV / Mario Kart / Smash Bros while I work on that. Also still haven’t gotten around to Zack & Wiki and Portal! And now with MGS4 and the new Soulcalibur, things are starting to look grim. In a good way, I guess.

It’s challenging to keep up with the amount of games that come out every month!

FFVII Crisis Core (PSP), enough to know it’s very good but I’ll buy it eventually.
    GTA IV (PS3)
