Sony Puts The Getaway and Eight Days “On Hold”

Submitted by on June 4, 2008 – 11:29 am2 Comments

Sony has confirmed that they have stopped development on both The Getaway and Eight Days.  Both title were being devloped at Sony London Studios, and The Getaway, was supposedly just starting to pick up in development.

No word on why they halted development on the games, but official word is that Sony is shifting resources to get games like LittleBigPlanet, Singstar 3 and others to help them with completion for launch dates.

I had not heard much about Eight Days, but from footage I could find, it looked like some kind of shooter with a story, set in a desert environment.

It should also be noted that the games were not cancelled, but development stopped.  That said, there was no word on when production would resume, putting a depressing spin on what looked to be two great titles for the PS3.
