Say It Ain’t So: The Fab Four Are Coming to Rock Band, Guitar Hero

Submitted by Joe Haygood on June 23, 2008 – 4:31 pmComments

While Rock Band and Guitar Hero, have both become extremely popular for their gameplay, as well as their musical selection, there have been many an iconic band that have not made their way into a rhythm game as of yet.  Off the top of my head, I think of bands like The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles (may be remedied soon), Fleetwood Mac or even the great Bruce Springsteen.  The Beatles have also been mysteriously absent from the rhythm games, but that may be fixed shortly.

Rumor around the campfire is that there are negotiations afoot that will bring The Beatles to both Guitar Hero and Rock Band (yay, for non-exclusivity).  Nothing firm yet, but it sounds as if there might be either a full game based on The Beatles, a la Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, or releasing of DLC soon.  The way the rumor is out there right now, it could be interpreted either way.  All I know is that I would be down for playing some “Revolution”, “Twist and Shout”, and “A Hard Day’s Night”.
