Resistance 1 To Miss Trophy and Home Support [Updated]

resistance fall of man skullUpdate: Insomniac has gone on the record to correct the statements referenced below to say that Resistance 1 will not receive trophies or Home support. Oh well.

Original article from 2008-06-05: Well it figures that a few short weeks after I drop off Resistance: Fall of Man at Stephen’s house so he can enjoy it on his shiny 60GB PS3 we learn that Insomniac head Ted Price has mentioned there will be patches to add trophy and Home support for the first-generation PS3-exclusive shooter. There’s no solid date as to when, of course, but at least they’re saying it’s coming. I’m betting it’ll be soon, what with the 2.40 firmware rumored to hit before Metal Gear Solid 4 launches on June 12th.

PS3Fanboy also linked to something else I’d missed. The Solo Pack for Super Stardust HD apparently includes some semblance of trophy support as noted here. This seems to conflict with earlier reports that only the latest SDK coming out in June includes the ability to add trophies in a game, and I hope that the moment the XMB supports 2D trophies we get the ability to earn them right away in something, or unlock them for what we’ve already done. I’m sure we’ll need the full game to get any new patches, so Stephen get ready to hand it back over.
