Home Decor Is Of Particular Interest To Me

You might call this the best fanboy-flame-war scoop on the Xbox 360 and PS3, ever. A new consumer research study by Experian has just published rather odd comparisons between Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. Apparently Xbox 360 owners can live without their mobile device more than PS3 owners, PS3 owners read the paper more and more Xbox 360 owners can’t live without radio. The Wii seems to appeal more to the 18-24 demographic, while the Xbox 360 appeals more to the 35-44 demographic and the PS3 appeals more to those over 44. These age ranges are of no surprise to me, especially the PS3 with its higher price tag as the debtless middle aged folk tend to have more cash laying around.

Here’s an entertaining chart to key psychographic (marketing term) statements. I especially like the “I don’t like to stand out in a crowd” statement with Xbox 360 owners taking the trophy for that one.

You can check out the study yourself in PowerPoint or Keynote, but you’ll need to tell them a bit about yourself (so they can study you).

“..older people tend to have more money..”

They may have more money but the 18-30 age group is the crucial “disposable income” pocket.

Very true, sadly I’m a couple years out of that demographic now.

I think Wii's appeal on the 18-24 demographic a big win for Nintendo.

older people might have a “lot” of money but they can't spend so much on stuff like this since they're getting more priorities in life (and more debts/bills to pay too) :D
