Deoxys coming to GameStop this weekend.

deoxys has nothing to trade in!

Don’t forget, there’s another summer Pokemon event on the calendar, hot on the heels of last month’s Darkrai appearance at Toys R Us.

This time it’s Deoxys, a psychic pokemon from the GBA era of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. This weekend (and next weekend) you can court scoffing by the 360-focused GameStop sales staff and show up with your DS to download a pokeymans. You can probably just stand outside by the Cinnabon and still reach the DS WiFi blanket. Don’t forget your copies of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

Deoxys comes in four variants (Normal, Attack, Defense and Speed) and in the GBA days, it selected a form according to the Pokemon game cartridge you were playing at the time. IE, the Speed version shows up in Emerald and the Defense version is in LeafGreen, etc. But that’s last-generation talk. The Deoxys of Diamond/Pearl can change forms at will, merely by touching a series of mysterious meteorites found on the east side of Veilstone City. Read more about it at the always-OCD Pokemon Wiki, Bulbapedia.
