Guitar Hero: World Tour Debut Video

Submitted by Joe Haygood on May 21, 2008 – 8:07 pmComments

So today, we got the first video showing off the new Guitar Hero IV,  now titled, Guitar Hero: World Tour.  The demo has a great Lenny Kravitz track that the dueling bands play, which immediately tells me that we will be seeing Kravitz music in the game.  It also touts the “most realistic drum set” on the market.  The thing I wanted to see was the “revolutionary guitar design”, which does not seem to be in the video.  I see the guitars they are using, and at the 1:03 marker gives a decent look at the device.  It almost looks like one of the aftermarket PS2 guitars.

Overall, it looks like they have captured the Rock Band experience, although I laughed a bit when I saw the part about recording your own songs, because they seem to have left the part out where you cannot record vocals, but who wants to mention that in an advertisement.  And the “Band” seems to lose energy towards the end when they are all just sort of loafing it on the stage.  Does this whet your appetite for the next iteration of Guitar Hero?
