Submitted by on May 12, 2008 – 1:20 pm3 Comments

This week on the Aeropodcast, we have Paul and Joe discussing the summer drought of high quality games, the validity of MMORPGs on the console and somehow, we still manage a way to mention decent and The Matrix Online in the same sentence.  We also have news and another great review to read on the air.

I know you overlooked the Wii in terms of MMO’s but if Nintendo gets over its fear of the internet I’m guessing an Animal Crossing MMO would be the most successful console MMO effort, easily.

I’m expecting it to be announced at E3 (not like they have much else to announce at this point).

Unless Nintendo’s planning to produce a storage device as a pack-in for an Animal Crossing MMO, I doubt they’ll go that route. Wisdom would be Nintendo supporting a US localization of Chunsoft’s Gamecube MMO Homeland in the form of an enhanced Wii port. That game functioned perfectly without any local storage.

MMOs need to have local storage available to patch exploits. Even Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2 used the memory card to download and apply patches to the game.
