Age of Conan MMO Pricing Has Been Set

    By Joe Haygood | April 23, 2008

Well, another MMORPG is soon to come out to the masses, this time using the Conan the Barbarian universe. The beta and demo reels that have been released for the game are looking great, but the key factor to the game had been kept secret for some time now, and that is the price.

Well, today, the pricing model for Age of Conan has been released and it is not pretty. While the game looks great, its $60 release price is more than a bit strange considering that even World of Warcraft has not commanded a price of $10 over the normal PC game price. The monthy fee does not get any better as it will be $14.99 a month to play this game.

While I like the premise of mashing a single player section and the overall MMORPG section, and it has the violence that has always made the Conan novels and movies, great entertainment. But to ask someone to front out $60, and then another $15 a month for a game that has not even proven itself in the tough to crack MMORPG market is just plain crazy.

Sorry Eidos and Funcom, I will probably have to take a pass in the beginning on this one, because there is no way that I would pay the extra price for an unproven franchise.

      This is just insanity.

All the console fanboys are screaming with joy because "now all games cost the same". What utter crap. That is all.
